BOSS VISITS

I almost fell out of my chair when I came across a job listing for a company that was hiring work from home customer service agents for a seasonal position with Mattel. Included in the listing was the notification that your boss will make unannounced visits to your home. Let’s stop for a second.

Who has the time to travel to your an agents home to visit? Also, what are you evaluating? In the role of customer service, my only concern is your performance on the phone. Are you meeting the metrics required for a successful evaluation? That is the only thing I am concerned with. Who cares about anything else going on in your home? Some employers really go overboard to try to impress upon you the level of control they desire over you when you become a part of their payroll.

Thankfully, you never have to worry about that within my company. I have all the information that I need from the status reports provided to me from your performance.

Would you be willing to work for a company that includes boss visits within their announcements? Has anyone ever experienced one? If so, please tell us about it.
